When a customer asked VITEC to design a custom multi-source compression board to be integrated into an existing embedded system, VITEC was happy to take on the project. When they presented the tight budget and a target completion date only 4 months away, VITEC rose to the challenge.

The Customized Electronic Board for Video Surveillance designed by VITEC has a non-standard form factor with one DSP, one PC-104+ interface and 6 composite inputs. It supports PAL video formats up to 720 x 576 and NTSC up to 720 x 480 and provides MJPEG video compression. VITEC designed all software as well as the board.

VITEC provided developer resources for the Customized Electronic Board for Video Surveillance, including a SDK, demo application and source code. The innovative VITEC LiveWire™ framework enabled rapid integration of the board in the embedded system.
