Vitec VCS video camera system is a flexible, compact programmable camera module that is optimized for smart camera applications that require intensive processing power and low power consumption. It is suitable for indoor use for counting individuals for security control, measuring queues, motion detection and tracking, and direction control.

The Vitec VCS utilizes a DaVinci™ TMS320DM6446 digital media processor, a highly integrated system-on-a-chip with 64 MB DDR-SDRAM running at 333 MHz and 32 bits with throughput of 1.3 Gb/s. It includes Ethernet, RS-232C and USB 2.0 input/outputs and supports any standard M12 x 0.5 lens, including wide angle lenses, lenses with IR filters and high quality plastic and glass lenses.

Two off-the-shelf mechanical interfaces are available for Vitec VCS and custom boxes can be created to meet specific technical requirements. The platform may be installed at heights ranging from 2.7 to 15 meters as well as within a cap ceiling.
