The SDM290ex is the most fully featured Stradis standard definition decoder product. It offers outputs and features to match the needs of the most demanding professional applications. The SDM290ex decoder decodes full MPEG 4:2:2 profile up to 50 Mbps. It provides continuous, frame-accurate, seamless back-to-back playback of all standard MPEG-2 streams. All decoding takes place in hardware.

The SDM290ex has three video outputs for maximum flexibility: SDI (SMPTE292M), analog YPbPr and composite. It decodes 8 embedded audio channels in addition to outputs for AES3 digital audio and both balanced and unbalanced analog audio.

The SDM290ex provides machine control via remote connector and can be configured as either “Controller” or “Device”. Linear Time Code (LTC) output is provided based on stream time codes or synthesized by the API.

The Developer Kit (SDK/API) makes integrating the SDM290ex into video systems fast and easy. It gives applications complete control over all SDM290ex functions. The SDK/API allows software written for the SDM290e to be used with any other current model Stradis decoder products. The SDK/API supports multiple SDM290ex decoders in a single computer with synchronized playback across all cards.
